For sale is a copy of full leather cover personal copy of antique American Polyglott Bible in rare wallet style binding. The copy features full leather cover in lovely burned orange color and gilt page edges.It is printed in the year 1848 by a publisher named Chapin Bridgman & Co. The copy is adored with many full page steel plate engravings through out the volume. It is signed on the front endpaper as a present to "Nenah Hasmes" from her husband. The Copy measures 4.5" by 3" for the cover size, roughly 2 thick.
The bible is in great antique condition. The front and back cover are both full leather and in good shape common age related sign of rubbing is present. The binding and leather cover is tight. All four hinges where covers meet the spine are in excellent condition. The leather is still supple and flexible.There are very little foxing, yellowing, staining in this copy. Please check all photos for detailed condition. Such an excellent preservation state is rare to find for Bibles of this age. All in all, this is a rare well preserved American pre Civil War religious text ready to be added to your antique bible collection.
