For sale is a copy of full leather cover personal copy of antique American HOLY BIBLE in good binding condition. The copy features tolled leather cover with decorative design and gilt page edges. It is printed in the year 1853 by the American Bible Society located in New York.

The book was gifted and belonged to Elizabeth Nelson. The Copy measures 6" by 4" for the cover size, roughly 2 thick.

The bible is in great antique condition. The front and back cover are both full leather and in good shape common age related sign of rubbing is present.

The binding and leather cover is tight. Both hinges where covers meet the spine are in excellent condition. The leather is still supple and flexible. Such an excellent preservation state is rare to find for Bibles of this age. There is one weak spot in the binding (maybe the book was opened and laid flat at that page for a prolonged time).
