Henry SAUERBIER AMERICAN CIVIL WAR M1850 SWORD. Unmistakable blade profile and construction on this Henry Saberier M1850 Feild officers sword or Infantry officers sword.. Blade has US , and typical Union military motifs associated with the Civil war era sword.
This sword also has some of the coolest looking eagles and spider web looking etchings ive ever seen on an etched sword.. There is on one side of the blade either a name or H. Saberier etched about 2 3rds of the way up the blade.
It is hard to read what it is exactly. Guard has minimal movement without its blade washer in place. (easy fix for the collector) All of its original wire on the handle is present and intact. Shagreen , or stingwray (see node pattern on handle) your call is present and in fair condition considering its age.
Some seperation on the counter edge of handle is present. Please see pictures for further discription and feel free to ask questions.. The scabbard that it came in is quite tight but it does seat completely. The throat is missing and the scabbard is i believe a superior or feild officers variant??
