18 to 20 size was usual for this period..... The movement measures a full 22 Lignes (50 mm or approximately 22 size)! Engraved on the inner dust cover is Patent Lever, Full Jeweled, No 3524 T. Being "fully jeweled" implies a 15 jewel movement which was considered excellent quality for this time period.Front and back cover show some wear. I tested the outer covers for silver.... 800 silver and I guarantee them to be so. Inner dust cover is silver plated brass and has a crescent of brass showing.
The lifter spring opens the front cover OK but the lifter spring push button release works on the hard side...... I use my thumb nail to push the button. The dial is excellent except for a small edge chip at 1:00 which is mostly covered by the bezel ring.
Has an original period key with some minor rust that came with the watch when I bought it out of an old Burlington family estate sale about 35 years ago. I serviced the watch and put it away in my own collection at that time..... It's been there ever since. Please note that I did not clean or polish the silver case.... I like to keep my items in an "as found" state with the exception that I cleaned and oiled the movement to put it back into a serviceable working condition.
