ANTIQUE DATED 1839 FRENCH ARTILLERY SWORD MAY BE USED IN AMERICAN CIVIL WAR. THE MOUNTS ARE OF BRASS AND HAVE MANY MARKINGS AND NUMBERS, THE GRIP WITH LEATHER ON WOOD AND BRASS WIRE. THE BLADE IS CURVED AND HAS LARGE FULLER, THE SPINE IS ENGRAVED WITH MAKER AND DATE. SCABBARD IS IRON AND LOOKS LIKE WAS DUG FROM THE GROUND.
CONDITION OF THE SWORD IS VERY GOOD, BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT. CONDITION OF THE SCABBARD IS POOR.
