Great antique map for your collection. Made by that famous cartographer Augustus Mitchell. Samuel Augustus Mitchell is considered one of the premier map makers in the United States and the cost of his product truly reflect that appreciation. Mitchell made this map from 1843 to 1850 in both a wall and folding pocket (only offered for a year or two) formats. The map perimeter is squares that show further details of 32 cities and towns in the United States. There certainly is wear and tear to the map. There is some loss to the outside edges.
It is mostly to outside smaller maps, the main map is mostly there. The map is 49.25" across, by 42" tall. Add a couple more inches for the boards that are attached on the top and bottom. The top board is loose from the canvas. Make sure that this antique map meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. So ask all questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the map on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. This is a special piece and I want to make sure it goes to a home that will appreciate it, so looking for serious inquiries only.
