The simple way you can prove this is that you can't remove anything unless you cut it off, except the Bowie scabbard but it's clearly the scabbard that the hanger was made for. The scabbard is probably arsenal made as it is stamped "C1" on the reverse of the brass throat. The Bowie is an old kitchen knife with an altered blade that has a pronounced clipped (Texas clip) point which has a very sharp false edge.ALSO the corners of the wood handle have been altered slightly by the original owner who scraped the ends to form a "coffin hilt" (reminiscent of the guardless coffin hilt Bowies of the 1830's) and had a hole drilled for a lanyard ring. The heavy brass lone star buckle is original and has never been cleaned or messed with. It is fastened onto the leather belt with two arrow shaped prongs bent over some cloth pieces between the leather. The possibility of the buckle being fake is zero. Length is 43 long from end to end.
I wear a 32 waist. I put it on and it's a perfect fit.About half of the images I borrowed from the previous owner I took the last seven photographs.
